The Creative Power of the Voice of God - No. 1

~ Day One ~

The universe as we know it did not yet exist. The eternally Existent One looked out over a sea of nothingness and yearned for something distinctive. He desired to transform the pitch-black obscurity into something exquisite that would reveal some of the grandeur of His personhood. Deep in thought, the Spirit of God soared like an eagle over the watery abyss below.

A thundering sound went forth from the mouth of the Godhead. “Light!” commanded the resounding voice. Instantly, resplendent brightness displaced the inky blackness. Illumination flooded the nothingness converting it into lucid and shining brilliance. Father, Son, and Spirit unanimously agreed that the light was good and decided to divide the light from the darkness. They named the light “day” and the darkness “night.” And so the creation inaugurated its’ initial evening followed by the first morning. This was the commencement of the creative work of the Supreme One.

In the fall of 2012, I put some thoughts on paper in an attempt to capture the magnificence of the creation. Since this has to do with the incredible power, glory, splendor, radiance, and majesty of God speaking, I thought I'd post it on the L2G Forum. I'd enjoy any feedback you might have by emailing L2G.Forum@gmail.com.
