He Is Worthy of It All
"God, who gave our forefathers many different glimpses of the truth in the words of the prophets, has now, at the end of the present age, given us the truth in the Son. Through the Son, God made the whole universe, and to the Son He has ordained that all creation shall ultimately belong. This Son, radiance of the glory of God, flawless expression of the nature of God, Himself the upholding principle of all that is, effected in person the reconciliation between God and man and then took His seat at the right hand of the majesty on high — thus proving Himself, by the more glorious name that He has won, far greater than all the angels of God."
Hebrews 1:1-4 J. B. Phillips

INNER HEALING GUIDELINES and BOOKMARK
My heart has heard You say, “Come and talk
with Me.” And my heart responds, “Lord, I am coming.” Psa. 27:8 NLT
It may be helpful to view a time
alone where one listens to God in hopes of experiencing inner
healing as a two-way conversation with Jesus. In this conversation, the person would ask God a number of specific questions. After listening, it is important and
helpful to jot down the impressions that come your way.
God is faithful to communicate
with us through the impressions He brings to our hearts. God’s communication
may be in the form of thoughts that come into the mind, words, pictures,
emotions, ideas, or other means.
Sometimes the things that come to us when we
seek to listen to God do not seem to answer the question that we asked. This is
okay. It will be helpful to jot down the impressions that come even when they do
not initially seem to make much sense.
Many of the conversations that people
had with Jesus in the gospels were often not very linear. A person would ask a
question and Jesus would often seem not to answer it. He knows where things
need to go and so we seek to trust in Him with all of our hearts.
It will also be helpful
to relax and not to put yourself under pressure. Listening prayer directed at
inner healing is not about forcing yourself to come up with something or
analyzing everything that has ever happened to you. Instead, it is a time of relaxing
from self-effort, focusing in stillness on God, and allowing Him to gently
communicate with you. It is something that God must do and so there is no pressure
to perform or invent things. No one is on trial, we don’t have to make the
process work. Ask God to calm any anxiety or preoccupation.
The "Inner Healing Guidelines" can be printed on card stock paper as a bookmark you can keep in your Bible or Quiet Time notebook. If you'd like to seek Inner Healing in a time alone with God, set aside an hour and a half to two hours in a quiet place where you wont be disturbed. Turn off your cell phone so you won't be interrupted.
In seeking inner healing, another possibility would be for two people to set aside 90 minutes to meet in a quiet place. One person could facilitate the inner healing process while the other person is the one receiving inner healing ministry.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 NIV
For a more detailed explanation of this ministry in a time alone with God, or with the help of a facilitator, the book A Guide for Listening and Inner-Healing Prayer: Meeting God in the Broken Places (2011 NavPress - Tyndale House) was written and designed to be helpful tool. The book is available from Amazon.com, NavPress, Tyndale House or can be ordered from this blog.

LAID LOW TO LOOK HIGH
I love the Eternal; for not
only does He hear my voice and my pleas for mercy, but He
leaned down when I was in trouble and brought His ear close to me.
So as long as I have breath, I will call on Him. Once
I was wound in the wrappings of death; the terror of dying and the grave
had a grip on me; I felt like I could not get away because I was entombed in distress
and sorrow. Then I called on the name of the Eternal: “O
Eternal One — I am begging You — save me!” And He graciously delivered me.
The Eternal
is full of grace and naturally just; my God is compassionate and
merciful. And the Eternal watches over the naive.
Whenever I was knocked down, He reached down and saved me. O my soul! Return and relax. Come to your True Rest, for the Eternal has showered you with His favor. ~ Based on Psalm 107:1-7 Voice version of the Bible
Ever feel like your life has spun out of control, trapped, and like you've messed up so badly that things will never be the same? I have. In fact I seem to fall into this predicament on a somewhat regular basis.
I once read a quote somewhere that said "laid low to look high" (the title of this post). What was it that Jesus said to His disciples? "I am the grapevine, you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him — this one bears much fruit. Because apart from Me, you can do nothing." ~ John 15:5 Disciples’ Literal New Testament. I need to be reminded that I am a but a branch who needs to abide and draw my strength from the True Vine.
In the US we have an important document we call the "Declaration of Independence." However the key to walking triumphantly as a disciple of Jesus Christ is one of determined dependence. Have you you fully entered into your day by day and moment by moment "Declaration of Dependence" upon the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? If you haven't, why not talk to God right now and fully yield to this reality today?

WHITER THAN SNOW
Last week in Colorado Springs we had a dusting of snow that coated the trees that surround my home with white for a couple of days. It was so beautiful ~ I had to take a picture of it (above). Everything looked so clean and renewed.
In 1974 there was a song by singer Evie Tornquist Karlsson with the title "Clean Before the Lord I Stand." My favorite line in the song was "Clean before my Lord I stand and in me not one blemish does He see." Click here to listen to this song on YouTube.
But how do we see ourselves as we live our day to day lives? Have you ever tuned into your self-talk? Like when you can't find the car keys, your wallet, or purse, what do you end up thinking or saying about yourself deep inside? If you're like me, it might be some nurturing words like you idiot, can't you do anything right. Or when you make a mistake on something that's important to you like giving a speech, leading a Sunday school class, or praying out loud amidst a group of people ... what are the thoughts that run through your heart and mind. That just shows what a loser I am ... I just can't seem to do anything right!
But how does God see you and me? Colossians 1:22 tells us But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation (NIV).
Psalm 32:1,2 and 7 explain Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord does not count against them ... You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance NIV.
Zephaniah 3:17 serves as the icing on the cake: For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty Savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs NLT.

DO YOU WANT TO BE FREE?
Please watch this video rendition of the Casting Crowns song
“Set Me Free" by clicking on the
below image:
The above song by Casting Crowns indicates that Jesus can set us free from the things that we may currently be captive to. Please ask Jesus the following three questions. Write down what He reveals to you on a piece of paper.
1. What areas has Jesus freed you from?
2. What area(s) of captivity would you like Him to liberate you from?
3. How will you go about securing the freedom Jesus promises?

O Come Emmanuel ~ The Light of the World
As we approach the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, popularly known as Christmas, it's easy to get caught up in shopping for gifts, making special meals, office Christmas parties, difficult family relationships and forget the prophecy Isaiah wrote nearly three thousand years ago.
"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called Wonderful,
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
And can you hear the angels singing?
"Glory, glory ... the Light of the world is here!"

I LOOK TO YOU
Psalm 105 begins by encouraging us to Tell other people about the things God has done. To sing songs of
praise to Him, tell stories of
all His miracles, and revel in His holy name. Why is this important? It’s important because we need to reminded that He keeps His covenant promises forever and remembers the word He spoke to a
thousand generations (Psalm 105:9).
Here’s something the Three-in-One did inside of me as I listened to Him
on the first day of this month (November 2016). He communicated, You are My son. I am for you and not against
you … as I did for David in the Psalms … so I will carry you … and your family.
Do not harden your heart and keep your eyes on Me.
Then He bought the song “I
Look to You” from YouTube to me: I look to You … when the levies are
broken, my walls have come crumbling down on me. Click on the image below to watch and listen to this moving song.
